Supporting students to find work experience

Gaining insight into job roles is a valuable addition to any CV, and by experiencing the world of work first-hand, learners can begin to understand the skills they need to succeed. But when face-to-face work experience opportunities are not available or tricky to find, online and virtual work experience can be just as beneficial for understanding different organisations and industries.

Banking virtual work experience with LifeSkills

Aimed at students aged 13+ who want to explore banking as well as a chance to develop skills required for any industry. Students will attend a series of webinars where they will identify their own skills, develop core skills such as problem solving and resilience, review their CV and develop interview skills. They will also get to meet Barclays employees and work on a banking project.

Virtual work experience with LifeSkills

Barclays virtual taster courses

Students aged 13+ who have an interest in banking and want to go on and explore some specific roles can apply to go on a taster course. They get the opportunity to cover four roles; Developer, Data Analyst, Operations and Finance, all led by industry professionals. They’ll carry out real-world tasks and gain the knowledge and skills to help them with their future careers.
